Ajith Kumar and Gautham Menon's proposed project was shelved due to the differences between the duo. Later Ajith went on to do Mankatha, with director Venkat Prabhu.

Now the movie 'Thuppariyum Anand' which was scripted for Ajith, by Gautham is being used for Surya, his close pal, according to close sources.

Thuppariyum Anand will be a suspense thriller set in backdrop of 1930s with film revolving around a detective investigating series of murders held in the city of ancient Chennai.

In a recent interview, cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa who earlier worked in 'Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya' had mentioned that both Gautham Menon and himself have already started their researches based on working style of detectives during pre independence era.

Another interesting buzz about the film is Gautham Menon has roped in British Model Amy Jackson of Madrasapattinam fame for the female lead role.
